Welsh Athletics is seeking to appoint a high-calibre individual to the role of National Coach, providing direction and leadership to all areas of performance and coaching in Wales.

Athletics in Wales is flourishing, with more club members than at any time in its 100-year history. The recently launched Regional and National Development Programmes and the more established performance pathway are also producing unprecedented numbers of GB vests and leading to international success across all age groups.

2019 will see the start of a new chapter for athletics in Wales, with a focus on refining the existing structures to build a World Class Athlete Development system that ultimately develops medal winning performances across all event groups.

Overall purpose of the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will shape and implement the coach and athlete development strategy to support talented Welsh coaches and their athletes in all event groups.

The National Coach will line manage a team, manage departmental budgets and work with the Senior Management team to build a high-performance culture, in tune with the values and objectives of Welsh Athletics.
